Allotrope: ܒܠܬܘܪ bltwr. Reborrowing: ܒܠܬܕܘܪ bltdwr
MP balādur [blʾtwr] marking nut (CPD 16); NP balādur the marking nut Semecarpus anacardium (Steingass 196); NP balādūr anacardia (ibid.). Maggi (personal communication) informs me that the Ir. word is considered to have been borrowed from MInd. bhallāta- the tree Semecarpus anacardium (Turner 1966, no. 9414; see also Laufer 1919, 482 f.). The form bltdwr in BB maybe reproduces Arabic /ḏ/ with the graphic cluster «td»: see § 11.3.1 ● bldwr, bltwr Med 239, 12; 306, 12; cf. 309, 2; bltdwr BB 214, 1 ◆ LS 75a; 78 b
