ܪܙܕܒܝܪ rzdbyr secretary
Probably from NP rāzdibīr, as already suggested by LS and Duval index pers. 218, but the Pers. compound is not recorded in Steingass; Dihxudā only lists the derivative rāzdibīra book where secrets are written down, used by kings. Gignoux (personal communication) suggests a MP antecedent *rāz-dibīr with the meaning "scribe des secrets", i.e. "secrétaire (confidentiel)" ● BB 1226, 2; 954, 15 ◆ LS 723a
