Pagliaro 1971, 24 believes that the MIr. word is reflected as a loanword in Late Latin drappus (fifth cent. AD), and that it is related to OInd. drāpí- "garment, cloak" and MP drap- "to wear, dress" (Nīrangistān 92, 94); contra Mancini 1992, 53 n. 17 (Lat. drappus is not an Iranian word, but a Celtic one).
