ܒܘܛܐ bwṭʾ buṭā crucible
Reborrowing (?): ܒܘܕܩܐ bwdqʾ id.
Syr. bwṭʾ seems to be a loanword from NP bōta a crucible, melting-pot (Steingass 205), whereas bwdqʾ perhaps was borrowed from Early MP *bōdak, later *bōdag. In this case the chronology of occurrences does not help to determine the chronological relationships between the two loanwords, since the two Syr. words attested in the same text ● bwṭʾ Duv B 2, 21, 14; 24, 20; BB 366, 9; bwdqʾ Duv B 2, 100, 19; 102, 15 ◆ LS 62b; 60a; PS Suppl. 44
