Aram. bystrqʾ pillow (Telegdi 235, 34); Md. bʾstyrqʾ bastirqā sumptuos clothing (Widengren 1960, 91; Nöldeke MG xxxii). According to Telegdi, Talm. Aram. bystrqʾ and Syr. bstrqʾ are loanwords from MP wistarag [wstlg] bedding, cover (CPD 91; Nyberg 215 reads vistarg; < OIr. *wi-star-ka-), whereas Md. bastirqā was borrowed from MP wastarag (see also Nyberg 205); as regards the vocalization, Telegdi compares Md. gʾnzybrʾ ← Pahl. ganzəwar; Md. pʾtykrʾ ← Pahl. patkar (Nöldeke MG 51 and 27).
