ܓܠܰܝܡܳܐ [†] glymʾ glaymā woollen outer garment, cloak
LS and PS Comp. refer to NP gilīm a garment made of goats' hair or wool; a carpet or rug to lie down upon; a blanket (Steingass 1096); however, Leonid Kogan (personal communication) calls my attention to the presence in Hebr. of the hapax gəlōm (in Ezra) and of the verbal root GLM to wrap. It is more probable that NP gilīm comes from some Semitic language and that Syr. glymʾ is a genuine Semitic form rather than a loanword from NP ● BB 497u ◆ LS 118b; PS Comp. 71
